General Counsel Receives Honor from Utah Business Magazine

Trent Belliston, General Counsel and Director of Compliance for The Younique Foundation, has been selected for Utah Business magazine’s 2021 Corporate Counsel Award. He will be honored on April 22 at a luncheon event in Salt Lake City, Utah, and featured in the April 2021 issue of the magazine.

Belliston, has been General Counsel for The Younique Foundation since 2018. Prior to that he advised the Foundation as a consultant. He oversees all legal, compliance, privacy matters, and expansion of the Foundation into international markets.

“I feel very lucky to work with amazing individuals in pursuit of our goal to help survivors of sexual abuse heal and to raise awareness about the risks of childhood sexual abuse,” he said. “My coworkers and this goal motivate me each day to give my best effort.”

Belliston has more than 15 years of legal and healthcare experience. His professional work has concentrated on hospital administration, compliance, and privacy within several healthcare systems. He has served as a hospital executive responsible for compliance at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Healthcare System in Baltimore, Md., and Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, Calif.

He began his legal career at the Salt Lake City law firm of Day Shell and Liljenquist. Belliston earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Brigham Young University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho. He is certified by the Health Care Compliance Association in health care privacy and compliance. He has worked for the University of Utah and Zions Bancorporation as an auditor.
