Saprea Celebrates 500 Healing Webinar Participants

On December 1, Saprea celebrated a milestone of 500 participants completing its newest service, the online Healing Webinar. Participants have joined from around the world to participate in the Healing Webinar as part of their journey in healing from childhood sexual abuse, and the number is only growing.

The Saprea Healing Webinar is a free 4.5-hour interactive and educational online experience designed to help adult female survivors jumpstart their healing from home and progress along their healing journey without the barriers of location, cost, or unfamiliar environments.

The webinar is led by a clinical therapist who specializes in trauma recovery, along with a co-teacher from Saprea’s Education and Research Team. In each webinar session, survivors have the opportunity to participate in classes, engage in group discussions, mindfully connect with their body, and build a community with other survivors.

“When we first ventured to offer healing, educational services online, we didn’t know how it would be received or how needful it was,” says Jessica Bradley, the clinical therapist who leads the webinar. “Now, after connecting with our 500th individual, I am continuously amazed at the strength and connection developed in such a short amount of time. The individuals who attend join from all over the world and at different stages in their healing, yet the insights made and validation they offer to each other is humbling to witness over and over again. It’s a healing work, a sacred work; and I look forward to the next 500 with joy and hope.”

Since Saprea launched the Healing Webinar in early 2022, survivors of childhood sexual abuse have joined the webinar from 45 different U.S. states and 24 countries around the world.

“It's truly been a humbling and fulfilling experience—to not only meet these incredible women from all over the world but to also witness their bravery, resilience, and commitment to healing,” says Breeann Allison, webinar co-teacher, “That's what makes the webinar so special—seeing the strength, honesty, and compassion of each survivor. Seeing them support, validate, and connect with one another. They are changing each other's lives just by showing up, and all over the course of four and a half hours.”

For many survivors, the Healing Webinar can serve as a stepping stone toward other healing services, like the Saprea Retreat. Participants who attend the Healing Webinar are welcome to apply to attend the Saprea Retreat if they wish to do so. The Saprea Retreat is a free four-day in-person experience followed by a self-guided online course. The Healing Webinar is also open to participants who have previously attended the healing retreat and could benefit from a refresher on what was taught, as well as meeting other survivors.
