Saprea Launches Continuing Education Courses to Equip Mental Health Professionals Supporting Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse
Free online CEU trainings strengthen trauma-informed care while expanding access to healing resources for survivors.
LEHI, Utah – Saprea, a nonprofit dedicated to liberating individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts, is expanding its support for survivors by offering two free online Continuing Education (CEU) courses for licensed mental health professionals this summer.
The new trainings are designed to deepen clinicians’ understanding of child sexual abuse (CSA) trauma, strengthen trauma-informed therapeutic practices, and connect providers with Saprea’s free healing resources for adult survivors.

The free CEU courses include:
Therapeutic Support for Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (1 CEU)
Friday, July 17, 2026 | 12:00–1:00 p.m. MT
This training explores the barriers that often prevent survivors from disclosing abuse and provides clinicians with evidence-based strategies to foster safety, support disclosure, and incorporate psychoeducation into trauma treatment. Participants will learn practical interventions to reduce self-blame, strengthen emotional safety, and encourage deeper therapeutic engagement.
From Shame to Self-Compassion: Supporting Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse (1 CEU)
Friday, August 28, 2026 | 12:00–1:00 p.m. MT
This course examines the lasting impact of shame on adult survivors and offers self-compassion-based, trauma-informed approaches that clinicians can integrate into therapy. Participants will learn practical interventions to reduce self-blame, strengthen emotional safety, and encourage deeper therapeutic engagement.
Both courses are approved through NASW-UT and offered at no cost. CEUs are available to licensed professionals in Utah, including LCSWs, CMHCs, and LMFTs. Mental health professionals outside Utah are encouraged to consult their licensing boards regarding CEU eligibility.
Beyond earning continuing education credits, participants will gain great awareness of Saprea’s free survivor resources, including the Saprea Retreat, support groups, healing webinars, and online healing tools and activities. By strengthening partnerships with mental health professionals, Saprea hopes to reach more survivors and ensure they have access to comprehensive healing support both inside and outside the therapy room.
