Battle of the Bands in Georgia to Benefit Saprea

Three local bands from Roswell, Georgia, will battle it out on stage in “Battle of the Bands 2023,” while also raising donations for the nonprofit Saprea.

“Battle of the Bands 2023” is set for April 16 from 6–9 p.m. at the Chattahoochee Nature Center Pavilion in Roswell. Tickets are $25.

The evening is hosted by Leadership North Fulton to raise money and awareness for Saprea. With healing and prevention tools, Saprea is educating caregivers and communities on how to prevent child sexual abuse, as well as supporting survivors in their healing. The winners will receive $750 and a feature article in Roswell City Lifestyle Magazine.

Saprea, with offices in Georgia and Utah, exists to liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts. One in five children in the United States will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday.

“We are happy to be able to support Saprea’s mission and the hard work they do to liberate individuals and society from child sexual abuse and its lasting impacts by raising awareness with this event,” said Ben Huard, a member of the Leadership North Fulton Class of 2023. “Our goal is simply to encourage educated and age-appropriate conversations in households across the nation, starting with our own community. We hope that the hard work that we have done over the past few months will be used as a blueprint for years to come.”

Created in 2014, Saprea is a public charity funded by a combination of public and private donations. Saprea empowers healing for individuals who were sexually abused as children or adolescents through retreats, support groups, and online resources. On the prevention side, Saprea educates and engages parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources. Saprea also drives awareness to motivate individuals to take action against child sexual abuse. All Saprea in-person and online resources are free thanks to the generosity of donors. All donations —100 percent— go directly toward helping survivors heal and helping parents and caregivers reduce the risk of child sexual abuse. Learn more at saprea.org.

Leadership North Fulton Class of 2023 consists of business leaders, city officials, representatives from local school systems, and institutions of higher education, who gather to explore issues facing the North Fulton County region and local municipalities.
