Saprea Calls for Survivor Privacy Following Epstein Files Release
Survivors of child sexual abuse have an inherent right to control their own stories, including when, how, and whether their experiences are shared. The release of identifiable victim information in the Epstein files represents a serious breach of that right and has caused additional harm to individuals who were already failed by the very systems meant to protect them.
Public accountability and transparency are essential, but never at the expense of survivor privacy or safety. Survivors must not face retraumatization or public scrutiny from action taken without their consent.
Saprea stands firmly for survivor-centered practices that prioritize healing and respect. We urge institutions, media outlets, and policymakers to uphold the highest standards of care when handling sensitive information and to ensure that survivors are protected—not further harmed—in the pursuit of accountability.
