Today I feel empowered and mighty. Yesterday I felt like my world had crumbled. Every day it changes. I’m happy to say I am having more good days than ever before.
My stepdad abused me from my earliest memories till I was 13, when we finally moved out. I never had a chance to get to figure out who I could be as a person. I hate that he took that from me.
After years of struggling with seemingly everything, I was finally diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, social phobia, and depression.
Having the diagnosis has made me feel heard, like someone is finally taking me seriously.
I’m so thankful to be where I am in life right now, even with all the highs and lows. Now I get to figure out who I am outside of the trauma.
